ISO50001

ISO50001 is an internationally recognised Energy Management Standard (EnMS) designed to help organisations identify their key energy uses and consider ways to improve efficiency and therefore reduce cost. The principle of the standard is to ensure continual improvement therefore organisations are required to set themselves targets with regards to energy efficiency and demonstrate that these are being achieved.

Energy Management Systems

Energy Management Systems such as ISO50001 can be externally certified but this is not necessarily required. Benefits can be gained by working towards the standard even if it is not externally certified.

ISO50001 is a recognised compliance route for ESOS compliance, therefore in the longer term the implementation of a certified ISO50001 system could assist your organisation with compliance as well as reducing your energy costs and improving efficiency.
